The Alliance is a project group intended to encourage visual and literary artists to work together. I've felt for some time that the dA Literature Community can at times be somewhat insular - to its detriment. We in the Lit Community are also sometimes prone to griping about the lack of exposure our work receives when compared to that of visual artists. So in the spirit of ^thorns brilliant Complaint Challenge I thought I would try to do something about that. And so the Alliance was born!
Because I, your founder, have a deep and abiding love for the seasons, this group now hosts seasonal contests, and as the Winter Contest is now over, it is time for Spring. ^^; I
Single Stock ChallengeHello from the admins of #TheArtOfManipulation! It's time for a new Contest and this one is going to be BIG! :happybounce:
How it Will Work
For this contest, we are going to make things TOUGH. We will provide you with a list of stockers that you can choose from, however you only get to choose ONE stock artist and you must use all stock from that artist. And to make things even harder, you cannot use any human models, premade backgrounds, PNG cut-outs, or brushes (except the preset ones located in your software already). Also you MUST use a minimum of 3 stock images, there is no maximum :)

I'm afraid not :( Only Original Characters and universes are allowed. Your Naruto based OC, for example, isn't elligible to enter or win.
Can we submit pre-existing works that fit the theme?
Nope. All entries must be made specifically for this contest, old artworks won't be accepted.

Create Your Own Celestial Character Contest!

Anyhow it's contest time! As I promised, I will be hosting a new contest featuring Cosmic Funnies. Unlike my previous contest, there
will be a physical prize along with the winning character being shown in one of my comic strips and perhaps for the rest of the series! :D

::Ahem:: here is the info below:

Create your Own Celestial Character Contest

Starts: Jan 19th Ends: March 20th


In this contest, you will be creating your own Planet or Star whichever you choose. You are to create a bio of the char either based on research on a real star or you created your own from scratch but was inspired by an actual star or planet. Either way works for me. Just remember to do your research before you decide to create your own character.

And now for the rules:

1. You may have up to 2 entries per person.
2. Traditional Art and Digital Art is welcome
3. Using other mediums into your work is crucial. (For traditional artists, use watercolors, colored pencils, or any medium you feel will work. As for digital artists, using textures and paint brushes will do fine. for example, a painted character with a texturized background.)
4. A well written and well thought out character bio. (It's good when the characters have an interesting back story. Make sure it's funny! Don't forget that!)
5. Be sure to send me a note of your entry with the title "contest entry"
6. Have fun!
